14 Fun Facts about the Interview of the Best Students Selection


The interview session for the Best English Club students selection was successfully held on Sunday, 8 March 2014 at Harapan Indah restaurant, Saumlaki. All 14 nominees were excited and did a good job during the interview by giving such convincing answers asked by the judges, Mr D and Miss Dwie.

Let's find 14 fun facts about the interview session you've got to know:

1. Christina Atdjas, 29, the oldest nominee of all was very happy to have her first interview ever. She thanked INPEX for this opportunity. She even revealed that it was her first time to step her feet on Harapan Indah restaurant and she was very excited about it. She said that although she was married, she didn't stop studying and learning to make her dream come true; to be a great English teacher.

2. The most cheerful boy in English Club, Korneles Maranatha Arbol really satisfied the judges with his answer and philosophy. He believed that nothing is impossible if you speak English and work hard. His quote of "It's awesome to speak English" will be our blog's tag line. His family really supported his nomination. He said that if he won the trophy, he would encourage other friends and people to learn English.

3. Marchya Rikumahua of SMP Kristen, Saumlaki was very happy to find that she was nominated as the best student. During the interview she gave a very touchy answer to a question: "What do people dislike about you?" She explained that most people said she was not good looking and it made her have a low self-esteem. The judges denied it and even Mr D convinced her that she was chosen to be the cover of the next English club's book just because she was pretty and potential. "If someone does not like you, it is because they are jealous with you", added Ms Dwie.


4. Ishak Lekatompessy really did a great job with his good English. He was able to maintain his speech and good pronunciation when answering the questions. He explained that he deserved to be the best student as his English was better than the others and he was multi-talented. He can sing, host, do a public speaking and presentation.

5.  Despite the first candidate to be interviewed, Elsina Siletty could avoid her nervousness and deliver smooth responses to the questions. This model wanna be girl did not like English as much as mathematics before, but when she was accepted in the Club, she started to love English. She dared to take a risk when to choose her private class or English club. "I love English and the Club as it is already a part of my family," she mentioned.

6. Piter Titirloloby was quite emotional when he really missed his mother that had been apart from him for years. Although he lived his life himself, he couldn't stop praising her. His nomination as the best student had shown that his mother played a big role in his success. This STKIPS student also mentioned that his effort to make children love English in Saumlaki made him deserve to be the best student.

7. "If I am awarded the best student, yes, I will jump into the sea." That was what Thomas Jordy Orno, known as EJohn, said in the interview. Although his friends said that he was lazy, he got a chance to win the trophy as he was cheerful, funny and had a good English. Also, he was talented.

8. Angelique Futwembun couldn't stop smiling and showing her happy face during the interview. "Although I am not as pretty as my friends, I am cute", said her with confidence. " I asked all my family to pray for my success in the interview. I am nervous and sweaty at the moment, but I believe I am one of the best."

9. Likke Tanjung said that her talent in drawing and fashion designing was already her first step to be a real fashion designer in the future. She believed that her English would make her become a great person in the world. This girl really wanted to continue her study in Korea and English played a significant role for that. She also mentioned, "If I take an order from a foreign customer, of course, I have to speak English."


10. Similar to Likke, Pritty Utary Go also had a big dream to be a fashion designer. She would convince her parents that fashion designing was the one that would make her successful in the future. To achieve that dream, she would study hard and of course master English.

11. Despite being nown as a cheerful, noisy, funny and multi-talented boy, Luis Harry Refualu could not hide his nervousness during the interview. His dream to be a star as big as his idol, Whitney Houston had motivated him to love and speak English. "I really want to be a star."

12. Melatty Layan spoke  very good English during the interview and looked calm and relaxed when responding to every single question. She was really proud of her skin and it was what made her special and different than the others. This girl wanted to continue her study in Yogyakarta to achieve her biggest ambitions in life.

13. Faisal Bahrun impressed the judges with his confidence and convincing answers. His ability to speak in front of public had made him decide to take the International Relations for his study at college. "I want to be an ambassador, in the US, because I want to connect these two big nations in the world, Indonesia and the US." Faisal also believed  English was the one who would help him to achieve this ambition.

14. Isabella Teken was happy to be nominated as the best student. Although she had just arrived from a long trip from Surabaya, she could show her enthusiasm and excitement during the interview. She convinced the judges she could make the best student because she was smart and spoke good English.
