Implementing Fun and Innovative English Learning - SMA Negeri 2 Tanimbar Selatan

Although their English teacher, Mr Harold, could only attend two sessions of Fun and Innovative English Teaching Training, the students of SMA Negeri 2 Tanimbar Selatan in Lat Dalam, a two hour drive from the Saumlaki town, succeeded in implementing the English fun learning.

From the picture below, we can see the students are posing in front of their ABC Chart and Word Wall. Although they only used  very simple material, due to the lack of teaching and learning material like markers, color pencils or paper, the students were very enthusiastic with their work.

ELSINA SILETTY: A Girl with Big Hair and Big Ambitions

And the Best Junior e-Clubber is....

Elsina Siletty! Our host tonight!

Tita, that's how Elsina Siletty is called, was very surprised when she was announced as the Best Junior e-Clubber in the Closing Ceremony and Night of Appreciation last Thursday, 20 March 2014 at Gedung Kesenian Saumlaki. Tita, who was one of the hosts, looked so happy and amazed.

Tita's character and performance is exceptional as she is a devoted student. Many may not know that Tita did not like English before. But, since she was accepted and joined the Club, she has become more and more interested in this subject. "English Club is my family now. I even skipped my private lesson as I really wanted to join the Club and here I am now", said Tita one day.

Tita is being recognized as she is incredibly conscientious about performing her duties as a student but is always the go-to-girl when it comes to receiving additional assignments. She always puts high responsibility and great effort  for everything she is assigned to.

Soon Tita is going to leave the Club because she is going to continue her study in a senior high school in Ambon. This doctor and model wanna be girl believes that English will lead her to her biggest ambitions in life.

Good luck, Tita. Wish you all the very best.

It was established by Miss Astuty Dwi Wahyuni (Dwie), an English language teacher at SMKN 1 Tanimbar Selatan. RJEC offers English courses from kids until adults. The courses are held at BPU and sometimes at Saumlaki library. As RJEC has been developing rapidly, Miss Dwie works together with some teachers like Mr Andy of SMKN 3 and Miss Tintin of SMKN 1.
